Dr. Diwan Harish Chand is one of the most qualified homoeopathic physicians of the world and has been into practice for the past 54 years.Dr. Diwan H. Chand is a man of great principles, believes in hard work and is an ardent follower of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy.

Dr. Diwan Harish Chand, a distinguished name of the world of medicine has created a history with his contributions, his works and the miraculous cures performed by him in the homoeopathic science. People from all over the world come to seek his advice.

Dr. Diwan Harish Chand is one of the most qualified homoeopathic physicians of the world and has been into practice for the past 54 years. Born on 7th March 1924 at Lahore (presently in Pakistan), to a family of Diwans, Dr. Diwan Harish Chand completed his MBBS in the year 1945 from Punjab itself. His father, Dr. Diwan Jai Chand was a leading homoeopath of Punjab. Dr. Diwan Harish Chand after doing MBBS, studied further to do his L.R.C.P. from Edinburg, D.T.M & H (Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene), M.D. Homoeopathy from England and much more.

His contributions and his works are so tremendous that he has been awarded as many as 16 awards for his services. These awards include the most prestigious award in medicine-the ‘Dhanavantri Award’ having been adjudged ‘The most outstanding Medical man of the year’ in the year 1979. Other awards include the ‘Great Masters in Homoeopathy Award’ in the year 1995, ‘Hahnemann Award’ in the year 1999 and many more national and international awards.

Dr. Diwan Harish Chand belongs to a highly patriotic family, actively involved in the freedom struggle. His father, Dr. Diwan Jai Chand was one of the pioneers of homoeopathy in India.

Dr. Diwan Harish Chand has been involved in teaching programmes and lectures in India and other countries also. He has been an active participant of many International congresses. He is the first Indian President of Honour of the International Homoeopathic Medical League. He is the Chairman of the Indo German Committee for Exchange in Homoeopathy.

Dr, Diwan Harish Chand’s name has been included in the ‘Limca Book of Records as the first Asian President and later as the President of Honour of the ‘International Homoeopathic Medical League’.

He was the member of the Homoeopathic Advisory committee, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India from 1980-85. During this time, he tried hard to curb the practice of patents which are being sold in the name of homoeopathy.

Recently, Dr. Diwan Harish Chand was invited to attend the centenary celebration and re-dedication ceremony of Hahnemann monument at Washington D.C. (U.S.A) held on June 21, 2000.

Dr. Diwan Harish Chand has visited all major centres of homoeopathic training and research and homoeopathic pharmacies throughout the world. He has got photographs of all these pharmacies and movie films of many.

Besides, his contributions and his interest in homoeopathy, Dr. Diwan Harish Chand has a keen interest in photography, philately, reading and writing. His collection of photographs, slides and books is massive and forms a library of its own. As he himself would put it:

“I have had three love affairs, one was, when I was ten years old, with my camera, second when I was 16 years old with stamps and third with medicine and homoeopathy but all before I met my wife.”
