Uterine Fibroids: The Homoeopathic Cure

Uterine fibroids : a very common ailment in women with practically no symptoms at all has surgery as the only answer to cure in allopathy. Homoeopathy offers a permanent cure to this problem.

Uterine fibroids is one of the most common complaint in women above the age of 30 years. It is the most common benign tumour in females. Owing to the increased acceptance of contraceptive methods, the incidence of uterine fibroids is on the rise. It is more common in nulliparous women or in those having a single child. The incidence is highest among the women in the age group of 35 –45 years. Fibroids are formed due to an increased oestrogen level in the body, which could be due to a variety of reasons. In pill users and during pregnancy there are chances of increased growth of fibroids. During childbearing period, the growth potentiality of fibroids is limited.

Fibroids may be located in the body of the uterus or the cervical region but they are more common in the body of the uterus. The uterus is enlarged in a woman suffering from fibroids and the shape is distorted by multiple nodular growth of varying sizes. Occasionally, there may be a uniform enlargement of the uterus by a single fibroid.

Growth potentiality of fibroids is limited during childbearing period.

Increased growth of fibroids during pregnancy and in pill users.

Following menopause, there is a cessation of growth and there is now new growth.

Patient Profile
The patients suffering from uterine fibroids are usually in the age group of 35 – 45 years. It is more common in nulliparous women or women with one child. Early marriage and frequent childbirth also predispose to uterine fibroids even in multiparous women.

Fibroids may not cause any symptom at all and are only accidentally discovered during a routine examination. The symptoms if at all they occur are related to the location of the fibroids as well as the size of the fibroids. Menstrual abnormalities such as menorrhagia, dysmenorrhoea, infertility, pain and swelling in lower abdomen are a few of the common symptoms of uterine fibroids. The patient appears pale and weak.

Life Threatening Complications of Fibroids

  • Persistent menorrhagia, metrorrhagia or continued va***nal bleeding leading to anaemia.
  • Severe haemorrhage due to rupture of veins.
  • Severe infection
  • Tumour
  • Increased menstrual loss or menorrhagia.
  • Irregular bleeding or metrorrhagia.
  • Painful menstruation or dysmenorrhoea.
  • Infertility.
  • Pain lower abdomen.
  • Abdominal swelling.
  • Pressure symptoms such as constipation, dysuria and retention of urine.
